Key features of the pearlescent white V8 XTO

Engine and direct injection: The engine is built around a massive 5.6-liter, 32-valve, DOHC V8 powerhead. It is the first four-stroke outboard to use a direct fuel injection system, which pressurizes fuel up to 2900 PSI and sprays it directly into the combustion chamber. This results in maximum power, fuel efficiency, and precise throttle control.
Integrated Digital Electric Steering (DES): The pearlescent white models come standard with an integrated steer-by-wire system. This eliminates external hydraulic lines and pumps for a faster, more precise, and responsive steering experience with a cleaner rigging area.
Helm Master® EX compatibility: The V8 XTO is fully compatible with Yamaha's Helm Master EX boat control system. This enables advanced features like joystick control, autopilot, and other automated functions for greater maneuverability and confidence, especially on large offshore boats.
High-output charging: The Phase Angle Control (PAC) charging system can produce up to 96 net amps per engine at idle. This is crucial for powering modern, high-demand electronics such as gyro stabilizers, high-end sound systems, and air conditioning without the need for an onboard generator.
Thrust Enhancing Reverse Exhaust (TERE): This system redirects exhaust gases away from the propeller at lower RPMs and in reverse. This allows the propeller to bite into clean water, providing stronger reverse thrust for improved maneuverability and docking.
In-water gear lube servicing: To make maintenance easier for larger boats that are difficult to trailer, the lower unit features a system that allows for gear lube changes while the boat is in the water.
