The Yamaha Offshore 4.2L 300 horsepower outboard, designated as the F300, is a powerful and reliable V6 engine favored for offshore boating and fishing. Recent updates have introduced new features like digital electric steering and enhanced reverse thrust, while preserving the proven 4.2L powerhead. 

Key features

• Big bore displacement: The 4.2L (4,169cc) V6 engine uses plasma-fused sleeveless cylinders, a technology borrowed from high-performance sports cars. This makes the cylinder walls 60% harder than steel, allowing for a larger bore without increasing the engine's external dimensions. The result is higher displacement, increased power and torque, and reduced weight.
• Variable Camshaft Timing (VCT): This system adjusts the camshaft timing to boost power and throttle response in the low- and mid-RPM ranges, providing exceptional hole shot and acceleration.
• Electronic Fuel Injection (EFI): A precision fuel injection system, managed by an Engine Control Module (ECM), ensures an optimal air/fuel mix for maximum power and fuel efficiency.
